She mostly plays with her books and reads in the morning so it's super easy to straighten up. I always try to clean up with my LO before we leave the house (we leave the house every morning after breakfast), before naptime, and before bedtime...that way she will get used to doing it. </p> <p>@shopaholic: Our playroom is actually in the front of the house too...but it doesn't bother me that it's the first thing people see...they can also see the dining room and the entry to the kitchen/den. It actually really motivates me to keep things tidy. I think it's helpful to have a "home" for everything so you know where things are put away...not only does it make it easier to clean up but my LO knows where things go too and can help clean up. </p> <p>I much prefer a dedicated play area in the front of the house where we don't spend a ton of time with guests...our guests usually hang out in the kitchen/dining/den area at the back of the house and it's toy free. That was a hand me down from my BFF...and she got it from a family friend. I know Pottery Barn Kids has a train table kind of like that and maybe Toys R Us would have a similar table. We put her train table and toys in there, and an area rug over the tile so she has a soft spot. I like that I can tidy the toys into their own corner without it having to be in my personal living space. We plan on putting a gate up so she can't get behind the actual bar. </p>
