We got it for DD's first bday, and the kids all played with it at her party, but she didn't really enjoy it herself at the time. I think she started getting into it at around 18 mo. DS now likes it as well at 15 mo, but I catch him eating sand from time to time. It has easily been one of the most played with toys.
