@banana: My sister too! She LOVES her A & A blanket, the bummer was that they are so thin and fall apart easily from being drug around, so she ended up with a bunch of scraps that she kept in a laundry mesh bag and carried around with her, lol. But she is okay with replacing the blankets for new ones. She was so excited to see that my son has his own A & A blankets but in boy colors.

LO has an Angel Dear monkey. I gave that to her when I took away her paci. About a month before paci removal, I started putting the lovey in her crib. She didn't want anything to do with it but went right for it once her paci was gone. I only let her use the paci for sleeping so the lovey has the same association. I am not a fan of when kids drag a lovey/blanket around where ever they go. The item usually looks very dirty.

The Playskool Gloworm. We have 2, just in case. I wanted it to be something else, but LO wasn't having it. He likes the worm because it lights up and plays soft music, which he loves when he's down for a nap or the night.

I'm a big fan of the Angel Dear animal blankies - you can even buy them in sets of two identical ones so you can wash one or have a backup if one gets lost.

I keep trying to give my LO something during nap time, but all she wants is her thumb. Maybe when she gets a little older.

She picked out a dolly. I had been trying to get her to love on something with no luck even getting her to pay attention to them stuffed animals. We went in a toy store with my mom and she attached herself to this doll and it's been her lovey ever since.

Yes, she has a bunny that is one of those small square blankets with a head. It is her lovey :) She will reach for it @ bedtime & naps now...it's adorable! She doesn't use it besides then though

We introduced DD to a lovey using the techniques in the NCSS (I saw in another thread you're reading it). As she got older, though, she ended up choosing her own security items (a blanket my SIL made her and a bear my in-laws bought her). We have to be careful not to lose them anywhere, but she has a much stronger attachment to her blankie and bear than she did to the lovey we chose for her.

Yes, my LO loves his Aden blankets (but only certain ones). He loves grabbing the corners that have the tags on them and rubbing them between his fingers. It relaxes him. Good thing he likes those blankets cause they're easy to replace. I just have to buy the Jungle Jam ones cause he likes the elephant and monkey ones.

She doesn't. She loves all of her stuffed animals equally I think. Wondering if I should give her a security blanket. Maybe it'll help her sleep better at night.

My little sister, and most kids I know, attached themselves to a blanket on their own. Parents never introduced it to them in hopes of them attaching to it.

But in a book I'm reading, they suggest doing it and included a method in order to do so. That way you can control what item they "choose", and make it an item easy to replace.

Does your LO have one? Did they attach themselves to it on their own? What kind of item was it?
