Can a one year old have a temper? I'm not totally sure but I'd say she does! She knows what she wants & you better do things her way!

Yes. We had 3 temper tantrums this morning and it was hell. She throws things, but at least we've gotten her out of the hitting phase. The funniest thing is that she Grrrs when she's mad sometimes, like Daniel Tiger.

He can! He's pretty chill for the most part, but just this morning I took a box away from him that he took out of the cabinet. I said "no, no, we don't play with that" and then tried to take it from him. He tried to hold onto it and made an angry face while grunting. He's only 1 so, rationalizing with him isn't easy. I usually just give him a hug and tell him it's ok and try to distract him with something else.

Yes! My son has a very strong temper just like his dad. I really hope I can help him work on it as he gets older.

My daughter is only 11 months, but I'm already pretty certain she has a temper. She's always been super determined/strong-willed, but more recently has started squealing when I take things away or move her when she's doing something she knows she's not supposed to be doing (and, yes, she KNOWS things she's not supposed to do--already testing boundaries!).

Yes! My son is 2.5, and when he gets mad / frustrated he makes a caveman grunting sound "rrrrrrrrrrhhhh". It is so hard not to laugh, because it is so cute! If he's upset because I've told him no, he will say to me "don't tell me no!" or "why you tell me no?", and we talk about it. Sometimes I can explain / talk through things with him, and other times it leads to tears and a melt down. Big emotions are so tough for toddlers!

Yes! But he is 20 months and I'm guessing it has a lot to do with not being able to express himself verbally. We are definitely in a throwing toys/hitting parents phase!

Our son gets frustrated at certain things, and mad when (for example, total hypothetical, it didn't happen yesterday) his sister knocks down a tower he's building and doesn't say sorry. We talk about the rules of getting mad (no hitting, walk away, tell a parent, etc.) and it's really helped. I read that four year old boys have a testosterone surge, and I guess this is part of it!
