He's pretty chill for the most part, but just this morning I took a box away from him that he took out of the cabinet. I said "no, no, we don't play with that" and then tried to take it from him. He tried to hold onto it and made an angry face while grunting. He's only 1 so, rationalizing with him isn't easy. My son is 2.5, and when he gets mad / frustrated he makes a caveman grunting sound "rrrrrrrrrrhhhh". It is so hard not to laugh, because it is so cute! If he's upset because I've told him no, he will say to me "don't tell me no!" or "why you tell me no?", and we talk about it. Sometimes I can explain / talk through things with him, and other times it leads to tears and a melt down. We talk about the rules of getting mad (no hitting, walk away, tell a parent, etc.) and it's really helped. I read that four year old boys have a testosterone surge, and I guess this is part of it!</p> <p>Does your LO have a temper? </p>
