She got her first (Kit) when she was five, and the other (Kaya) when she was six. She does enjoy them, but personally I find way more "worth" in the books. Ellie has been enjoying those, especially the ones about the time period itself for many years now. They are mostly well written, and the historical details are really interesting to her. She also really likes the American Girl mystery novels. She bought DD a "bitty baby" doll this year, even though she's only 9 months. I'm sure she'll get a doll from her down the line. Let me just say it was a very nice party, great food, very nicely done (and $$$). They had dolls to borrow if you didn't have one. DD brought her own baby doll. I took her to see the case of dolls, and she couldn't tell the difference between all the brunette dolls, how one had blue eyes, vs brown, curly hair, vs straight. The first time I saw them was before I was even pregnant. Little girls were taking their dolls to the shop for a freaking "spa treatment", salon service, ear piercing and what not. And these dolls have their seats and food in the in-house restaurant where you real people eat with them dolls.
