Not yet but when we move next month, I hope to keep her most meaningful friendships alive. Hopefully FaceTime will bridge the gap now, and then becoming penpals when they are old enough.

C face times with her cousin (my sisters son) several times a week and now they actually talk to each other and talk about each other. It makes me so so happy since my sister and I are really close but live 4 hours apart and only see each other a few times a year. I love that they love talking to each other and really know each. They are 2 and 4.

Yes! My best friend lives pretty far away but has a LO with the same chronic health issue as LO and we get the kids together as much as possible and they FaceTime quite a bit. It's really cute!

We moved around LO 3rd bday. Her and this little girl had made a strong connection at just after 1. We moved over a year ago and they're still super close through visits and Skype. It's crazy to think about how early they became attached to each other since LO2 is almost 2 and just starting to ask about friends.

I'd hoped DD1 would maintain some of her friendships with the kids she was close to overseas, but the time difference (12 hours) has made it virtually impossible. One is going to bed while the other is waking up. We try to still talk about the friends and look at pictures, though.

That's adorable! My girls and Bao's are bffs by default. We should have them Skype. It would probably be hilarious!

I would've laughed at the idea a few years ago, but my son's best friend moved to Seattle two years ago... and they have kept the friendship alive with regular exchanges of photos and videos,! We told her mom that we were moving overseas, and they came to visit us last weekend!! The two kids were so cute and close together, that it made me realize that they've really maintained a long-distance friendship even after she moved away to the opposite coast. More than I can say for most of my cross-country friends!!

My kids also stay in regular touch with their grandparents, although my grandparents aren't as savvy about taking pictures and videos and sending them.
