I am already trying to stop carrying my LO all the time. If I can, I offer her my hand to hold instead.

Mainly symptoms are exhibited when I have 4 bags to carry into the house after a shopping trip.

DD (will be 3 in April) doesn't have a full case of CMATT but has developed a mild case since DS' arrival 5m ago. She particularly wants me to carry her up and down the steps if I'm not carrying DS at the time.

haha! DS was always pretty independent. Even now, when my dad or someone asks him if he wants to be carried, he'll usually say, "No, I'm 5 now, I can use my own legs."

I saw this article in Parenting magazine about the "fun" things toddlers do, and this couldn't be mire appropriate. This particular "syndrome" definitely describes DD right now (which is strange because she's always been so independent).

Carry Me All The Time Syndrome (CMATTS)
Definition:
The child refuses to be put down over a 12-13 hour period. Patient is unable to extend his or her legs enough to stand on and will make horrible noises when falling beneath a parents waistline. In extreme cases, the child won't permit the parent to sit down, sometimes resulting in Collapse of the Caretaker (COTC).
