DH's brother and sister adore Declan, but his sister lives far away and his brother works a lot. We see his brother every few weeks at family stuff. When we're all together we usually skype his sister. My brother...is weird. Think possibly undiagnosed Asperger's. He's kind of ambivalent about having a nephew and doesn't make much effort in regards to him. We see him when we visit my parents but he's not super interested in his nephew. We will need to figure out how to see SIL & BIL more often. Before LO, we saw them for dinner usually every week or every other week when we went to my IL's. But now with LO's early bedtime, we haven't been going over for dinner much anymore... We don't Skype or anything. Her uncle lives closer and sees her maybe once every month or two. We see my sisters regularly, and he enjoys hanging out with his cousins. DH's extended family gets together for all the major holidays, and both LOs love the big gatherings and tons of attention. DHs sister comes out twice a year. She still lives with the in laws so we she her on face time frequently. We see my sisters a few times a month, but my brother lives in CA, so we only see him a few times a year. DH does Facetime with his family daily, so it's rare that LO does not "talk" with all of them (7 siblings!) at least once a week. She only has one uncle and he lives 100 miles away, in London. He's seen my BIL maybe 10-15 times in his life. He lives 5 minutes away. He makes no effort. As for my brother, he used to live far away, so when DS was younger it was hard. Now he's 2 hours away and DS loves to spend time with him.
