Yes. DS has it bad. He started really young and at 22 months his separation anxiety is still going strong. He spends most of his time with me and if I even leave the room for a second he usually freaks out. Lately if I even reach for my coat or keys he goes nuts. When he was smaller I would baby wear him as much as possible, we still co-sleep and AP to some extent.

We visited family when DD was 7 mo and she happily let anyone hold her. She hardly even turned to look back at me. A few days before we were scheduled to leave, she all of the sudden wouldn't let anyone, not even DH hold her. She'd immediately cry, reaching out to me if I'm close-by. It was night and day! She'll be 8 mo on Friday.

Mine had severe separation anxiety for 2 months at 6 months because i am on mat leave and dh was working really late hours. Plus, we live far from family. Ever since 8.5 months she has gotten a lot better, and can go to others even if i am in the room with her.

We got hit pretty hard with it. I don't think it has to do with daycare or not. I think it's a developmental awareness that some personalities are more sensitive to.

Separation anxiety hit us pretty hard around 6 months, and at 10.5 months, she can't be away from me for even a second. Not sure if it's b/c I'm a SAHM or what... she's very smiley and cheerful and friendly, but only if I'm holding her.

I'm a WOHM and DH is a WAHD and have been since he was 7 weeks old.
For the past week when I leave in the morning, he cries and tries to climb out of the play yard, yelling for me, :(
Though when I get home, he doesn't care to see me and just calls for "dadadadadadadadaa"
Ugh.. I know it's a phase but it stinks!

My son just turned two and we've been hitting more of this in the past three months or so.... He has been going to daycare since he was 3 mos old so I was hoping we would avoid it - but dropping him off is such a hassle. Since I know he is fine once we are out the door I just drop him and bust out of there. I feel like I probably look like I really don't care... but oh well.

None. He's almost 8 months and has never shown any stranger anxiety (actually, once he cried at 4 months when someone new held him). He barely looks at me when I drop him off at daycare and seems to have no preference for his parents! He started daycare at 5.5 months but previously was with mama all day every day....

LO started at daycare at 12 weeks and she never really had anxiety issues. She had one week of being really clingy and scared of people around 11 weeks but that went away fast.

I have read that separation anxiety starts around 6 months. So far, my LO (7 months old) has no issues with this, in fact, he has never met a person he didn't love. We interviewed a baby sitter this weekend and the first thing he did when he saw her is reach to give her a hug. Do all LOs go through separation anxiety? Or does the fact LO has been going to daycare for so long mean that he won't have separation anxiety issues?
