We just scheduled one with my parents for his spring break to do house stuff and work. The last time he stayed there was in between Christmas and New Year's. LO gets to see his cousins and grandparents. Now that DD2 is nearly weaned (she's 13 months), I am looking into a weekend away with DH in the next few months! The only time he has slept over at someone's house is when he stayed with a friend the night LO2 was born. Other than that, he has spent 3 nights at my MIL's and one night with a cousin when we have visited family. My 2.5 year old has spent several nights with my sister and a couple with my mom, but that's it. She loves going to my sisters and playing with her kids and since I'm comfortable with her there it becomes a nice break for me and I get alone time with LO2!
