My LO is only 11 mos but I can already tell that she's gonna have strong opinions. I'll hold two objects in front of her and ask which one she wants. She'll look at both items and reach for the one she wants. It's pretty interesting to see what she chooses. We've also been baby-signing to her and she definitely lets us know what she DOESN'T want by doing the "all done" sign. Sigh.......I see lots of headaches come her teenage years.

Charlie is very opinionated about his clothes too! He likes to pick his shoes and hats.

Most definitely. The most recent example was Halloween. I think a lot of 18 month olds still let you dress them how you wish but my daughter absolutely refuses to wear certain things if she doesn't like the look of it. Prime example was her Pocahontas Halloween costume. It took both my husband and I to hold her down while she kicked and screamed to put on the costume. It was such a struggle that we skipped half the Halloween events that we had been planning on going to because we were so tired of that battle. It was a battle not worth fighting since she doesn't know what Halloween is anyway.

Charlie used to do anything we asked... but now he has strong opinions about everything. I am surprised by how often he lets us know what he wants. Or more often, what he DOESN'T want!

Does your LO have strong opinions? How does he or she express their opinions to you?
