@Bao: I read somewhere about answering the first time and then for follow up requests, use "mommy already answered that" or "how did mommy already you when you just asked." LO is 3, but those phrases seem to be helping.

@Bao: yes! But it does go away - DD is 5 and was asking me for a drink and I told her one second - and I knew it was taking me a long time so I said it again "one second" and she replied "I didn't say anything" :silly:

So yeah, she got over it but I am still in the mindset of them saying it!

Yes! If DS asks for something he can't have and keeps at it long enough, I stop telling him he can't have it, and start counting out loud how many times he says "I want x!" Keeps me from going crazy, and eventually he realizes he's not getting it

Yes all the time. She's 2.5. She often starts asking nicely, then experiments with other ways to ask. Putting Please in, like five times (please mommy can I please have cheddar bunnies please?), then moves on to yelling. It drives me mad.

DS is 2.5 and has been doing this. So freaking annoying!! Every day on the drive home from daycare (15 min max!!), he always asks for milk. He knows he'll get it when he gets home, and yet, he asks all the way home. Ugh!! I tell him I don't have any right now or we'll go buy some in a bit, or reason it out with him, but he just goes back to requesting it.

Yes, my almost 3 year old does this. it drives me nuts but I figure it is a phase since LO 1 doesn't do it anymore.

Yup. Mine is 3 so I try to just make it something concrete like "first I'm going to finish loading the dishwasher, then I'll get you a snack." So she can see how much longer in a sense. Sometimes works sometimes she is just wanting that snack NOW!

Yes, mines a new 2 though so seems appropriate. I just repeat that mommy heard and will be right with you. I also ask her to count to 10 and then I will get it, to help her understand the concept of time a little better. Needless to say, she's become a very fast counter haha!

yep! it is a huge pet peeve of mine! I'm following for tips because I already try saying "mommy is busy right now you need to be patient" but it does nothing.

until they get what they are asking for/you respond?

My LO's will ask for something, like a snack. I will say one minute and I will get you one, and in that time they will keep asking...it drives me crazy. I know they are young but there has to be a way we can work on this. They also do this if I say no to something, they will continuously ask and ask and ask. Any tips?
