Could it be a phase for now? As a kid, I wouldn't drink milk and only wanted apple juice. This was well before other types of milk were popular and so my mom never substituted with anything else. Just breast milk and now hemp milk. She's so-so on hemp milk. She loved it in bottle form, but in sippy form, she can take it or leave it. To be fair, we've never tried cow's milk, but yeah, she prefers water. No juice, no milks. I hated milk as a child. My parents would make me drink it until I was gagging. Horrible. DD1 doesn't really eat any dairy (she only just tried ice cream for the first time this week, at 2.5 years old!), so I worry constantly about her calcium intake. DD2 at least eats yoghurt, cheese, and foods with cheese on it (pizza, grilled cheese sandwiches etc). Sigh, it drives me crazy - I wish they would both drink milk like everyone else's child so I wouldn't need to worry! Both girls were EBF and never had any formula ever, so maybe the jump from BM to cow's milk was too much for them, especially as I never really pumped much and wasn't able to mix BM and cow's milk to transition them... I can get him to down about 4 oz a day. I try to make sure he gets yogurt at breakfast and then cheese throughout the day to make up for it. My oldest daughter will have it in cereal but that's about it. I've tried to get them to drink it but they just won't! Does your LO like cows milk? If not, do you give them something else as an alternative?
