My son (2) asks to "talk to NanaPapa?" on a regular basis. Once they're on the screen, though, sometimes he gets really quiet, sometimes he runs around showing them things, and sometimes he loses interest and just takes off. Sometimes it's just me holding up the phone so my parents can see the kids running around playing. But DS likes to get really close and kiss the phone. DD just likes Facetiming with all the family dogs. It's so cute because even though we only see them a few times a year they actually have a relationship. We do "breakfast club" at least once a week (aka FaceTime while both are eating breakfast, very original). Right now we talk to my parents and DH most days - I usually do most of the talking and flip to the back camera so LO can run around and play, but he comes over every few minutes to 'talk'. Unfortunately, LO does not love it which makes is hard to chat that way with friends and family. He says hello and then seems to get very nervous and very quiet. He is the type of child who takes a few moments to warm up anyways but once he's comfortable, will talk forever, but he doesn't seem to like/understand the concept of FaceTime.
