Yes and it drives me nuts because she wont be appeased with little tasks alongside me, she needs to be doing whatever it is I'm doing, with the specific tool I'm using (eg sharp knife). She wont use the duster unless I give her the polish to spray (but then she sprays it in her face/mouth), she wont chop with a blunt knife, she wants my sharp one, she wont use the mop unless I let her dunk it in the bucket (then it makes a huge mess).... and it always ends in her having a meltdown. Basically, I cant do housework if E's at home because it will just result in drama.

Yes! Sometimes it's really sweet, but other times you just want to get something done quickly. I feel horrible saying no, because I know I'm passing up an excellent teaching moment, but sometimes there isn't enough time in the day to do it all.

OMG DD wants to do everything with me. It usually takes twice as long to make meals or clean up if she "helps" but I feel like it sets a good standard for the future of her contributing to the family.

Every.single.thing. It's cute but sometimes I want to make dinner quick and if she wants to help, her sister wants to be close, and then it takes 5 times as long and makes 10x the mess.

My son reaaally wants to help me with everything, including my work. I really try to encourage it, as I remember one of my siblings started out as a wannabe helper... and then when that didn't work out, became much more oppositional/defiant. So when he asks if he can help, I leap to my feet and create little tasks/missions he can do for me - he loves it!

I have to admit that it can be exhausting though.
