@Andrea: haha yes! i was so overwhelmed with all the sick babies around us (paranoid about LO getting sick) and trying to keep him entertained b/c he was getting so fussy waiting... then afterwards I realized how rude I was!

I don't think I have ever ignored anyone but I am bad at multi-tasking while watching my LO at the same time.

@reggie: my SIL did that to me once at the doc's. My LO had a black eye and she did not say one word about. I was sooooooo upset and called up DH in a rage. I guess it is common to forget these things sometimes. Mommy brain!

omg I am the same way with my LO around me- we went to the doctor's office for his 4 months check up and coincidentally a friend of ours came in with her sick toddler... i didn't realize how rude i was until afterwards! we briefly said hi and i didn't even ask about her toddler's sickness! argh!

I'm sort of like that. Someone will start talking to me and I'll try my best to carry the conversation but I've trailed off in mid-sentence and have walked away to change LO's diaper without finishing the convo. Heh heh.

I was oblivious to my surroundings before my LO.

I seriously stopped being friends with a girl because I didn't say hi to her in the hallway of high school. Well I didn't see her! I wasn't paying attention to anything, so I would walk right past her and she thought I didn't like her. Then we ended up at the same college and I emailed her to hang out. She asked me why I always ignored her and we had a good laugh. We felt so stupid for ending our friendship!

So I was at a baby's bday a few weeks back and apparently one of the girls there tried talking to me THREE times--asked me questions, etc etc. After we left she went to the host/ess because she was offended that I IGNORED her all 3 times!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I totally DO NOT remember her trying to talk to me--First time mom here! I feel SO bad. Never would have thought I'd be oblivious to my surroundings because of my baby!

She thinks I'm racist now.
*sigh
Seriously though, I get easily frazzled when I'm in social settings with my LO. Ugh. Can't wait to see her again so I can apologize!
