For a period of time, LO ONLY wanted daddy. Almost to a point where I started to feel like I wasn't a good enough mommy or that something was wrong with me! Well now, it's ALLLL about mommy. Except for sleepy time. LO prefers daddy to put him down to bed.

@sunshine44: It took us a couple of weeks to have it so there weren't any issues anymore. One night she'd be fine with just him and I'd think we're in the clear, and then the next night she'd scream again. But like I said, now we switch off putting her to bed every other night and she's fine.

I was mostly worried because I get migraines and if I had one and wasn't able to be there at bed time, my hubby would be stuck with a screaming baby all night long. Now the only problem is we can never have a "date night" because I'm worried about leaving her with a grandparent to scream at. We'll just have to have date days.

When she sees daddy she thinks play time and gets hyper.
We have had some success lately with him putting her to bed at night. She tends to cry for mommy comfort if I'm around but if he takes her when she's happy and just starts doing the bed time routine it usually works out. But usually she just fusses for mommy if shes tired and she knows I'm close.

LO definitely prefers me... Which I love, but also feel a little guilty. DH always thinks she hates him, butI have to remind him that she is with me all day long, she was inside me for 40 weeks, and my body is a lot more cozy for her to snuggle against. If LO is in a good mood she does like her daddy time though.

LO loves her daddy because she rarely sees him (LO wakes up just as hubby leaves for work and LO goes to bed just as hubby gets home) so when the hubs IS home, LO is all over him.

But when she is fussy, I can easily make it stop whereas the hubs struggles. He doesn't mind it, but I'm just better at it. On the weekends when we're all home, he'll come sit with us while I breastfeed, read to her, talk to her, etc.

@Artbee, thats exactly the same for us. She'd rather play with daddy but wants me for comfort. We are slowly trying to do the family bed time where he feeds her too, I guess it will just take some time for us to get there. Thanks for giving me hope!

She likes me for comfort and him for play /giggles.

We had some issues because my lo refused to let her dad put her to bed. She would scream if he tried, and only wanted me. So we started doing a family bed time where we would get her ready for bed together and I'd feed her while he stayed in the room. Then we did the same thing but he would feed her. If she screamed I would take over, but eventually the screaming stopped and I started leaving the room so he would be feeding her alone. Finally she let him do it all himself, and now we do bed time every other night.

I would also suggest for daddy to get more alone time with your LO. It will help. My daughter still prefers me but we make sure that she gets a good amount of daddy time so that I can get that break and it is usually easier if you are not home or else they will know that you're there and want you instead of daddy.

I've noticed that sometimes it can help if mommy leaves the house for a bit!

So far he seems to love us both equally, so it's really nice! Unless he's hungry, then I'm numero uno! ;)

My LO obviously spends more time with me on a daily basis given that the hubby is at work. I feel bad when he comes home and wants to play with her, but she would rather be with me. She prefers me whenever she wants to be comforted or wants to sleep. This makes it so hard for the hubby to help me out when I need a break. But more than anything, I feel bad that she prefers me most of the time! I wish I could do something to fix this!
Who does your LO prefer?
