Just the other day she really surprised me with her communication skills because she said out of the blue without prompting, "Mommy, I'm really sorry that I broke the cup yesterday..." - she talked about it a whole day after the incident occurred, and was so genuine and remorseful about it. He does know when we're "mad" at him for doing something bad - like hitting or kicking us. Afterwards, he'll try to distract us by saying something we've asked him to say to someone before.
