Mine does, but he's almost 3.5. I think he started when he was almost 3.

Aww so cute!!

Yes, she does. Just the other day she really surprised me with her communication skills because she said out of the blue without prompting, "Mommy, I'm really sorry that I broke the cup yesterday..." - she talked about it a whole day after the incident occurred, and was so genuine and remorseful about it. God I love her.

weirdly yes!! it makes me so sad, I don't know where she learned it (she really isn't fresh, so I've never said to her to say sorry).

she randomly has started saying "sorry" once in awhile but usually after (I think) she thinks she did something wrong :(

Awww... that is cute in a way! My youngest will look down and mumble sorry without moving his lips. Yep, he really means it! :P

Mine sobs when we ask him to say sorry. On occassion, he will say it on his own, in context, but generally, it is a "battle" word for us.

Your DD made me LOL a bit though...

Yes, but typically only to inanimate objects without prompting. Like she walks into the wall and says "Sorry wall!!".

@mrsjazz: P is the same way. So long as she says sorry she thinks everything is fair game.

@autumnlove: haha. that is cute!

My LO does say sorry in the correct context, but she will still hit me, say sorry, and kiss me where she hit me. She thinks that if it's okay to hit as long as she says sorry and kisses the booboo.

@autumnlove: I don't mean to laugh, but this definitely made me laugh!!

I don't know if LO really understands what we're asking him to say. He does know when we're "mad" at him for doing something bad - like hitting or kicking us. Afterwards, he'll try to distract us by saying something we've asked him to say to someone before. Or he'll point to me and say, "Mama" and then point to himself and say his name.

Lol!!!!! I'm sorry, but E and M are hilarious.

Mine says sorry only when prompted. "Ouch, you hurt mama! What do you say?" -"sorry!" This is after he slaps me on my belly or thigh really hard (we're working on this lovely new habit).

My toddler does not. She likes to say sorry before she does something mean to her sister.

Sorry before she grabs a toy that her sister is playing with.
Sorry before she tries to shove her sister out of Daddy's lap

We are working on it!
