The plan is to use an antique spool bed that I inherited and the mattress that fits/came with the bed is smaller than a standard twin. The mattress is pretty old but was never really used so I hope it's done most of its off gassing. I saved on the crib (ikea) and splurged on the mattress. I figured something where he was spending 12+ hours a day with his face smashed up against was worth it to me to make sure it had as little chemicals as possible. I was just going to get one from Costco, but online they look like they're mostly foam, and I don't really have any experience with those. And then of course every time I look at mattresses, organic comes up in my search and I start to feel guilty that I'm not spending double on one. What are your thoughts behind your choice? </p>
