Yeah, I'm a little worried about nighttime. Right now she's in our room in her bassinet, but quickly outgrowing it! We're supposed to get our Angelcare monitor by this weekend and then it will be time to transition to the big girl crib. I hate that I won't be able to see her, but I'm hoping the SIDS alarm thing will keep me from freaking out.

@meredithNYC: I say go for it! If you feel comfortable with it, of course. My LO had great head control from the get-go, so I knew she would be okay. Still, I watched the monitor like a hawk for the first week or so.

@c.sassy: I think I'm just discovering that my daughter (also 3 months old) is the same way. We have had some severely fussy days all this week and so far the ONLY thing that gets her to take a reasonable nap is putting her on her tummy. She will, luckily, still sleep during the night on her back, though she will not go for swaddling.

I started putting her on her tummy for naps at 9-10 weeks. She did. not. nap. before then. It changed our life! All of a sudden she was taking several 2 hour+ naps, and she still sleeps from 9p-7a. At 3mos she still sleeps swaddled on her back.

she started sleeping on her tummy when she was around 4.5 moths old. Now she sleeps on her back, tummy, sides.. she probably changes sleep position at least 15x during the night--she's a mover!

My LO is 5.5 months and he has no desire to roll back to belly. He also hates tummy time! He sleeps fabulously on his back though so I am hoping that when he learns to roll it won't disrupt his sleep too much. I do agree that sleeping bums up in the air are adorable!

At 5 weeks, we talked to the pediatrician about it because she was so anti sleeping on her back, and could not stand being swaddled. I would end up sitting in the recliner with her all night and sleeping on and off (dangerous, I know). As soon as we put her in her crib on her belly, she started sleeping 4+ hours at a time. It made a world of difference for us.

She started at two months. I started putting her down on her tummy for naps when I noticed she could do a mini push up and look around. It made a world of difference, now at three months she sleeps on her tummy full time.

She always hated being swaddled and despised being on her back. No one in the house was sleeping...it solved a lot of problems for us.

oh yes. Liv wasnt a fan of tummy time but always loved to sleep on her tummy on us. I finally broke her of the swaddle around 5 or 6 months-in one night-because as soon as I took it off, she rolled over and fell asleep like that. I have an Angelcare monitor so I went with it. She still spends 85% of the night on her tummy now at 13 months

DS has been rolling back to front since about... 3 months (I think). Just recently, within the last week, he started rolling over at nighttime and this morning I found him sleeping on his belly. He's 4 months, 3 weeks.

DD never slept on her belly until she was much older, though. I want to say she was 7 or 8 months before she'd roll over to sleep on her belly.

M hates tummy time as well! My nephew who's 8 days older recently learned to roll over and much prefers to sleep on his tummy. So at about 15 weeks?

I've heard that most babies end up sleeping and preferring to be on their tummy than on their backs at a certain point. My daughter is 4 months and 2 weeks and she doesn't seem like she will be rolling over to her tummy anytime soon? She still HATES tummy time - she quickly rolls to her back when on her tummy! Anyways, I am not in a rush for her to sleep on her tummy but I think its cute when babies sleep on their tummys with their butts in the air!

If your LO is a tummy sleeper when did they start?
