@sorrycharlie: that is such a great term - he is the same way! it would make me so nervous when he napped on me because he'd smoosh his face into my elbow/armpit/neck and I had no clue how he was breathing!

it's so funny to me how many blanket-face babies there are!

Yep! She still does! She does it with her lovey and her A+A blankets and now her comforter.

yes! i refuse to let her sleep all night with a blanket because she pulls it over her face and even though she can roll it scares me. I do put one in with her and then take it from her before we go to bed. And she gets it at naps when she's at home.

She usually sleeps with her arm on her face because of her fleece PJs.

@scg00387: we've used the same A&A blankie starting at 4 mo and my LO did the same thing. she even stuffs it in her mouth sometimes. (she's almost 1 now).

Yep, mine does that a lot. I'm convinced that it's his way of calming down. This morning when I got him out of the crib, I saw that he was cradling his Angel Dear lovey in his arms, so the lovey is working great for us.

My nieces all do this, as do the babies of many of my friends. No matter what anyone does, they always pull the blanket back up over their faces.

yeah..O has always been a "smush" sleeper! even as a little baby (ha, cause she's so old now at 6 months!?) she had to have her face turned into the bassinet/rnp/swing/pnp/my arm/my chest, etc. now she either pulls her full size A+A blanket against her face (it took me a couple weeks but I've relaxed about it) or she goes nose to nose with the seahorse!

yes!! DS used to do this all the time until he started sleeping on his belly at about 6 months. I think now he gets his fix from the soft sheet next to his cheek, haha. The lovey over the face used to totally stress me out though, I was constantly removing it.

Mine does that too even when she's sitting in her carseat. I tried pulling it out of her face but she gets mad about it. One time, she even grunted at me in her sleep when I pulled it away.

We got the OK from the pedi to use an aden anais security blanket at our 4 month appointment. LO loves blankets so I thought maybe it would help him on independent sleep. It's so light I can breathe through it even folded in fourths but it still stresses me out that he constantly pulls it over his face!

Anyone else's baby do this?? I pulled it back down after he'd settled last night, went to get a snack, looked again 30 minutes later and he'd pulled it back up!
