I suppose I sort of benefit from it too, since I'm nearest our bedroom door. if I turn it off, DD1 wakes up almost immediately. We use fans if we travel/are in a hotel. Our house is really small and we have a big, clumsy dog, so we're planning on getting a machine for LO as well. At my parents she sleeps fine with no white noise and she doesn't wake up if the power goes out and it turns off. I wake up almost immediately. DH and I have always slept with white noise though so we kind of got them hooked on it. I'm not sure how they would sleep if they didn't have their fans! Does your LO sleep with white noise?
