Yep And now at5 months he will pull the plate or placemat over to him if he's in reach! We're waiting untill six months since there is compelling research in support of that but its hard bc I can't wait to see his reaction!

LO does at just 4 months. If you are holding her when you are eating she is reaching for the fork and gives you and evil eye when you eat the bite yourself:) We are still planning on holding off on foods until closer to 6 months though.

Yeah she does it now, she actually grinned at DH's blueberry muffin earlier with sparkly eyes and a huge smile, but girlfriend has a shock coming if she thinks she's eating that, ha. We're planning to start at six months so in two weeks : ) So excited!

I'd sometimes put some juice on my finger if I was eating fruit or just a touch of what I was eating and let her gum it off. It was just for the taste at that point but she liked it.

Lol. P still doesn't, but she does when we drink anything! We waited until she showed all other signs AND when I felt we could for sure make it 1 year nursing (already gone through & couple of nursing strikes & sickness to ensure supply would hold out). We started at 9.5 months.

She totally did and we were sure she'd love solids, but guess what? Not interested. Very weird.

My lo did, but we still waited. My 6 month old niece literally tore my grilled cheese from my hand today, she just started solids two days ago. But she only gets purees, not grilled cheese!

Yepp! Elliot started doing that at around the same time. It got to the point at around 5 months where he would grab at the food or start making chewing motions with his mouth at he stared at us eating. We held off on solids for two more weeks, until 5.5 months.

LO also started watching us while we ate at around 4 months. It was pretty funny! We held off til 5 months though, I didn't want to rush it.

haha she does this all the time, and did from about 4 months old. We didn't start solids until 5.5 months. She still stalks me when I'm eating something she can't have. I feel bad, but obviously she isn't going to have candy. cookies, meat etc. :)

H has some bad manners, lol..For the past couple of weeks she will stop everything she has going on (bouncing, jumping, chewing, fist-sucking, foot grabbing), to stare in awe at me eating food. She STARES. Just fascinated!

I told this to the Ped and he said we CAN start experimenting with solids, but don't need to yet (4.5 months)...He said her staring or being really interested in food doesn't mean she needs to start yet.

Did or does your LO stalk your food? Did you start solids once they became food-aware?
