We had our first mini success the other day. Our first step has a big landing so she kinda monkey'd her way down it. But the when she got to the actual stairs (with me there waiting to help her/catch her) she stopped and didn't try to go down.

She still tries to crawl off the edge of the bed though. Doesn't even pause her crawl for a second. She's just confidant I'll catch her I guess.

DS has some concept of heights. He grasps me tighter when he gets scared by them, but gravity on the other hand he does not understand!

I think she's always been afraid of heights! She never tried to get off the bed until she could get down and plant her feet on the ground. I think she isn't much of a daredevil, though. She is always very careful when we're on the playground, for example.

LO has no concept of heights at 9 months. It's quite scary actually.

My LO is 21 months so he definitely understands heights. But I think he understood heights at a pretty early age (don't remember when though).

LO definitely understands heights. When she gets to the edge of the bed she stops and just looks down. She's 10.5 months old now.. don't remember when she started looking over the edge of the bed..

Mine does not at all. I'm not sure how to teach her (or what age they start understanding). But she'll crawl around on the bed there when I'm watching and I keep waiting for her to at least acknowledge she's gotten to the edge of the bed and nope not at all, she just gets momma putting her back in the center.
