We've never come out and explained it, but she's correctly used phrases like "well just google it then" lol

Our wifi can be spotty too. She'll say things like "ugh! The internet is broken!" but I'm not sure if she actually knows what it means.

@mrbee: knock on wood- DH just bought us a new router and our internet hasn't gone out in 24 hours. It goes out almost daily. It's faster now too!

We taught LO the word 'loading' which means the tv is thinking. She is 3 now and knows all kinds of things. She knows if something is on Netflix or AmazOn.

Yes we taught her early because she could not watch her shows in the car. We told her there is no wifi in the car and she will switch to something that doesnt require internet.

She also understands loading and she knows she needs to be patient.

She doesn't really get it either. She currently waits patiently for the video to come back when it goes out. She says, "It's broken" when it goes away.

We've been having some interesting technology questions.

She's big on the "why" question and one day she asked me something that I honestly wasn't sure why (how did xyz work) and so I told her that the next day we could "google it". Of course then she asked what that meant! She kinda knows what Siri is (and thinks siri is a person).

The wifi is spotty in our apartment, and sometimes Netflix will stop streaming for a bit. I tell the kids that "the Internet is slow," but they don't really get what that means - especially our 3 year old, who just insists that the video is "broken" and asks me to fix it.

So I taught her to say "bibbity bobbity boo" over and over while squiggling her fingers at the screen - she loves it! I think I created a monster though because her brother has figured out that it doesn't matter if you say bibbity bobbity boo or not - the video will eventually start streaming again. So whenever it stops streaming, she starts squiggling and bibbity-ing and he starts telling her over and over that it doesn't matter... and they argue about it until the video starts streaming again.

Anyway, does your LO understand what the Internet is? How do you explain to them what's going on when a video stops streaming? (Or maybe everyone has better wifi than we do!)
