DD usually wakes up happy. Sometimes when I wake her up early she is a little grumpy because she wants to sleep more.

Depends - if he slept well, he'll wake up happy. If he didn't or wasn't long enough, he'll wake up grumpy.

@mrsrugbee: haha this is DD1! She always woke up crying as an infant. It didn't matter if she got enough sleep. Now as a toddler the mornings are better if she gets enough sleep but she definitely needs the snuggles.

Sooooo grumpy. I find that it's hard to tell with her if she's still tired but fighting sleep or just needs extra cuddles to wake up fully.

I would like to go in there, just once, and find a smile.

GRUMPY. So grumpy. I have to pry her out of her bed, and she is a little monster. DH and I are the same, so I can't really say I'm surprised. We love our sleep over here!

She's normally pretty happy, but just today woke up this morning crying (she had soaked through her diaper) and crying from her naps. It breaks my heart!

As of 3 weeks ago when he started sleeping through the night (at 7 months) , he now wakes up happy! It makes me so happy as well! I love seeing his smiley face instead of crying, haha.

If she wakes up grump that always means she needs to keep sleeping. If she smiles and starts talking then I know she'd slept enough.

They go through phases, but DD1 has been waking up whiny for some time now - she shouts "Mommy, it's daytime. DAYTIME!!!!! I want to go upstairs!!!!" until someone gets her. DD2 usually wakes up happier, talking to herself for a bit, then gets grumpy quick if no one comes in to socialize.

@hilsy85: Same here. We can't talk to her for at least 30 minutes after she wakes up from a nap. It takes about an hour until she's herself again. It pretty much kills the afternoon.

DD1 usually wakes up grumpy and needs a bit to get out of her sleep funk. She gets that from me. :silly:
DD2 usually wakes up happy! Even when we have to wake her earlier than usual! She gets that from daddy.
