She was scared up until that point, but finally the desire to do it ougweighed the fear. Claire's will do them both at the same time, they were super fast, very clean, and probably do a million a day. Haha, but she feels my earrings sometimes. There are 4 girls in my family and we all had to wait until we were 7 because that is the age my mum decided for my eldest sister. We all wanted them done by then except for my youngest sister who we peer pressured to get it done when she was 9 ish. I don't know why, obviously she wanted it somewhat, but she was quite nervous about the pain. I'll wait to see when my daughter starts asking/if ever. See how observant she is and into that kind of thing. At 4 my older started wearing them less frequently. For some reason we had a lot of problems with them getting lost at recess or PE in her Pre-K program. At 5, she doesn't really want to wear them because of this. I talked with her about the process, and have pinched her ears a few times to demonstrate to her that it hurts like a shot, but only for a minute. She's onboard; I'll probably get it done at her well-child physical in May.</p> <p>My 4.5 year old is not interested due to the pain factor, but I suspect she'll ask once her little sister's are done. </p> <p>I'm debating whether or not to just get the baby's done once she has enough vaccines. Culturally (on DH's side), people pierce baby girls' ears as infants.
