Sized correctly they stay on. They are easy and for some reason, Daughter #1 loves them. They were on Zulily today, so we just ordered the next size up as our 4/5's are getting a little tight. DD has some maryjanes right now and has some kind of Crocs shoe in every size since size 4/5. DS has a pair right now in 4/5 and I'm about to buy a new pair. I tried to switch DD to Natives at some point, and she refused to wear them, but I saved them for DS when he reaches that size. There was a tiny bit of tripping in the crocs in the beginning, but after they got used to walking in them, they have been great. They stay on as well as any other shoes we have. We picked up a pair used at a consignment shop and thought it was worth it for that reduced price. However, if he was walking around for a really long time in them they'd rub a sore spot on his feet, so I didn't like them for long periods.
