@getjazzy: It is good to know they can assess eyes that young! My little guy tried to take a vision test at the doc today and it went poorly, even though I know he knows his letters! We have an appointment with a pediatric eye doctor next Friday, so hopefully we have some answers about his headaches.

My LO just got glasses for the first time and he's 2. We didn't have any indication he needed them, my optometrist just suggested we have his vision checked when we had him with us at our appointment around 8-10 months old. She discovered he had a lazy eye and requested to check on it every 6 months. It eventually resolved and just before his 2nd birthday, he was able to identify objects and images for her so she did a complete eye exam and discovered he needs corrective lenses. Not a shock, my DH did as a child too. She said that since we caught it early, it's highly likely that by 10 or so years old, he won't need them anymore. So far it has been ok, my DS likes to wear his glasses! It was a shock to me initially though.

My three year old has had headaches for the last few days, escalating this weekend to mean vomiting and him really not feeling well (no fever, just headache!). So, we went into the pediatrician today and he seems ok neurologically, so we are trying to see if it is a vision thing. So, here's the question, does your LO (or niece/nephew/neighbor) have glasses? At what age did he or she get them?

We are going to see a pediatric optometrist soon.
