It's a big office, so there's always a nurse practitioner or one of the new to the practice doctors available, if you're willing to see someone other than your usual doctor. I once needed to schedule an appointment later in the day because of a conflict, and was able to then. The walk ins, and that other appointment were with a physician's assistant, but if there a more significant issue, the pediatrician is called in. We see a different doctor each time...it's whoever is on that day. Even when we go for well visits, we don't make an appointment with any specific doctor. They have night appointments every night until 8pm except Fridays, and they have physician phone in hour every day from 8-9am 365 days/year. If it's bad enough, they'll meet you at the office even on a holiday. They can often fit him in very quickly - even if I don't call until the afternoon. LO's primary doctor is close to retirement so he only works a few days per week. We have seen several other doctors in the practice for sick visits if he wasn't working that day. They are all great. They don't book any appointment sin advance anymore - you call, they fit you in, even for routine care. I needed to get her in today (nurse suggestion), and her regular doctor was booked up but she got us in with another doctor. Which I'll take over having to take her to urgent care where I'm not familiar with any of the staff. </p>
