She lives 3 hours away, but I visit a lot (since the hubs hunts on their property) so she gets to see Charlie a lot. At first I was super irritated about her hogging my daughter all the time, and now I'm so welcome for the relief! I get to take naps or go on walks and just do all sorts of "alone" things. My MIL is super respectful of space, but she also has 2 highschool daughters that keep her busy. We're on better terms now but during my pregnancy they said a lot of crazy things about how I would never be able to keep them away from her and those statements still ring strongly in my ears. MIL also will comment on pictures and things on facebook and say things like "oh thats my beautiful baby" and other things that imply she belongs to them. I just remind them that I'm not ok with that (they live 5 hours away and she's only 16 months), but they have yet to drop the subject.
