My mom absolutely. She's wonderful with the grandkids.

My MIL.....I'm not sure if she does enjoy it. Or if it's because of her issues with the way BIL is raising his girls. So I'm interested to see if it will be different with our LO.

My mom loves watching LO. She's been here since LO was born 3 months ago, and tells us to go on date nights all the time, since she will be going back to the US soon.

I have a feeling when our baby is born and we need a sitter for the night both sets of parents will be fighting for the chance for it to be them! We'll have to be sure to split it 50/50 so there is no hurt feelings. That's the good and bad thing about both sets of parents being only 20 minutes away.

My mother and MIL LOVE it! But I only really trust my mother. I trust my MIL to take care of my LO but not to follow my rules and routine because just doesn't agree with the way I do things. When I go back to work, MIL will be watching LO one day a week...SIGH...We'll see what happens!

The one thing I can never complain about my MIL is that she LOVES childcare. She's always loved children (it was her dream to have 4 boys, but after having 2 the doctors literally told her another pregnancy would kill her... they told her not to have a second and she directly disobeyed them, just 15 months later... haha) and she has even been a sunday school teacher in the past because she loves taking care of kids so much. I know that one day she will probably move closer to us to help take care of the kids. Whether that will be next year or in 5 years I'm not sure, but I'm looking forward to the help. We talked about her living with us at first, but now we're thinking more about getting her an apartment very close to us, but close enough to the city for her to be able to be completely independent if she wants to.

My own mom does love taking care of kids as well, but she's not as child-oriented as my MIL. She has so many friends and is really involved in church. When it comes to the household, she's more about the housekeeping and cooking. Kind of like me, actually :) But like me, she likes boundaries and commitments and she's happily committed to staying with us on and off for at least 6 months to help watch the new baby since we won't be able to afford double daycare costs. I'm really looking forward to having her help and having my dad in and out as well. I'm REALLY hoping that they will retire and move back to be close to us again and be a weekly presence in our lives again. I can definitely see them babysitting at least weekly, and us going to their house weekly for dinner.

My parents LOVE kids. Sadly they're 15 hours away from us, but they probably will end up coming at least once a month anyway :) My MIL likes kids, but has some health issues that prevent her from being able to take care of them like she would like. FIL doesn't really have much to do with them until they can walk/talk/etc.

My mum is older so long stints would be hard for her but she loves looking after LO. She has been a lifesaver when LO has been sick and has had to be picked up from day care in the middle of the day.

My mom (and probably- even more so my dad!) love it. They came to visit us and were super excited when DH and I went out one night so they could babysit. They really hate that they live so far away and don't get to do it more often.

She prefers the overnight/sleep over kinda thing.
My LO's are older too.

My mom is amazing. She says the great thing about being a grandmother as opposed to a mother is that she doesn't have to take the baby all the time haha, she gets her baby fix :)

My dad likes them too, it's cute seeing my unaffectionate dad around babies lol i think he'll be really hands-on as they get older.

My mom cannot WAIT until I pop this little guy/gal out... she's been looking forward to being a full-time babysitter since before I got pregnant. MIL will want to babysit, too, but she works full time, so she won't be as available as my mom.

My mom loves it! She has been living with me for 2 weeks, and now comes over for the time that my husband is at work while I recover from surgery. She is loving every second. She still has a full time job, but she works for my dad so she can set her own hours. She goes in at night and the weekends to work now.

My MIL owns a gym so she's pretty busy, but she was a preschool director so I know she loves being with kids and would love to be able to spend more time with LO.

Aw, that's too bad! My mom is a kindergarten teacher and loves kids in general. All she wants to do is retire and enjoy grandkids, haha.

My MIL enjoys watching her grandson, but I don't foresee her babysitting our kid as much. She's just not in a good situation for it.

It's been interesting to see what happened with my sister and 2yo nephew (he's the only baby in the family right now). He has 2 grandmothers, two great-grandmothers, and 2 aunts babysitting him. That kid is SPOILED!

My mom watches my LO every day and she LOVES it. She calls me on Sunday saying how much she misses him...and she watches him 5 days/week! My MIL loves watching him but can only do so for 4 hours max (she's getting a bit old and gets tired easily).

My mom LOVES coming up and taking care of DD; but I can only take my mom in small doses, so she doesn't get to do it as much as she wants. :) MIL would love to spend more time with DD, too, but she's 14 hours away, so that doesn't happen too often, unfortunately.

I'd say my mom and my MIL both do not enjoy it!! Even if they both lived close by, I don't think either of them would watch our LO. I am not sure how the MIL feels but my mom is still very much into her career and is a workaholic so she isn't ready to give that up yet.
