Yes, our older son's room is larger. We might consider having them share in the future so we can get an office/guest room back.

Room size is pretty much identical. Our older child has a larger closet though. We put her in there when we moved into our house because it had the larger closet. And then my son got the other room when he came along. I wouldn't move kids around for the sake of the older kid getting a bigger room. That seems like unnecessary work.

Our baby has the biggest room. Our master is next and LO1's room is smallest. Her closet is teeny tiny so we may need to switch it up as she gets older. Or maybe not.

I would leave her! As a second child I had smaller everything. Unless there is like a ten year age gap, I don't think it matters!

LO2 has the bigger room, but LO1 doesn't mind. He is comfortable in his space and would rather stay in his room than move into a bigger one. Plus it's right across from our room.

Now he does. We moved little man to the bigger room so it could be a big boy room and we could keep the nursery a nursery for #2.

One kid will have a much smaller room for sure. For this reason I'm considering having the kids share a room up till a certain point.

We are dealing with the same exact situation. DD will only be 20 months when DS is born, and we had her room painted and decorated for her, so I hate to move her, but DH thinks she should have the bigger room. I'm inclined to just leave her, but we haven't decided yet.

We moved Xander (our oldest) into the larger bedroom before #2 arrived. The smaller bedroom was already a neutral color, so we didn't have to repaint it, but we painted the larger bedroom before we moved Xander into it. We moved him when I was about 28 weeks pregnant, so he was totally used to his new room before the baby arrived.

I think their rooms are about the same size but DS's is more of a square with 2 windows and DD's is a long skinny rectangle with only 1 window.

I probably wouldn't bother switching rooms, especially since your DD's room is already decorated.

Nope, when I found out #2 was a girl I told DH we were moving DS to the smaller room. I wanted the room with the bigger closet for my DD -

We moved DS to the smaller room at the same time as he got a new bed so he didn't care about the move.

DD has sooo many things in her closet and so happy she has the bigger one!

We set DD1's nursery up in the smallest bedroom (office size). We weren't planning to still be here by the time DD2 arrives, but we are for now. I haven't set up a nursery for DD2 yet, but if it comes to that point and we are still here, she will get the bigger room. We are hoping to be out of here in the next 6 months, though so it hopefully won't come to that!

We live in a 3BR house and the two secondary rooms are roughly the same sq. footage. H's current room is a bit of an odd shape though, so we will probably move her to the one with the more square layout since her bed will be bigger.

We have a 4 bedroom house. The smallest room is our office and DD has the second smallest room. DH doesn't think it's a big deal that DS (kid #2) gets the last room which is a little larger. Closets are roughly the same size, though the larger room has a slightly larger closet.

What do you think? Should we move DD into the larger room? We would have to (want to) repaint her room into a neutral color for DS (it's currently pink). On the other hand, I don't want her thinking we are kicking her out of her room!
