I've never asked DH, but he is often in the room when I'm pumping so I'm curious if he hears it too. ETA: Just asked my husband who looked at me like I was crazy. I used to hear "gram-pa, gram-pa" and "jack-off, jack-off". So weird! I remember thinking I heard a couple of other phrases too, it changed based on the speed I was pumping at, but I can't remember now! It used to drive me bonkers, I eventually had to put on headphones and listen to music while I pumped. My pump totally talks. I didn't even tell DH, and he started hearing it too--different two syllable words of course. Then he kept repeating over and over... One said that hers seemed to be saying "Saturday" and the other said she stopped using her pump because it sounded like it was saying "white power"!!!! My pump doesn't have a specific word but I remember the first time I used it at home I thought that there were people talking outside of my apartment door. So my pump basically sounds like a muffled conversation. Does your pump talk to you? :)
