Absolutely your approach will be met accordingly. As I've aged I'm more apt to speak my mind. I also employ this tactic at work...
I was recently on the phone with a lady who was asking ME for info and she was being very rude, I told her. I said I'd be more inclined and happier to help you if you would not be so rude. She was shocked. Lol

No, it doesn't.... but it really should. I would have begged forgiveness from that neighbour, proper kissed her arse, then bitched about her for weeks after. When, really, she deserved to be put back in her box, the silly old trout.

I had a neighbor today ambush me while I was out walking w/my LO and dog. The fence which separates our yards (that we are responsible for) had fallen a couple weeks back and we never noticed because we hardly ever go out in that side of the yard. We got it repaired immediately after we found out (literally, called the fencing company that same day to have them repair it the next day). My husband felt awful that the fence had been down and went over to apologize (our Golden had probably wandered into their yard because of it), but they weren't home.

I was about to apologize profusely for not realizing the fence was down, but this woman just started going off on me and accused me of allowing the dog to wander into her yard. It really made me not want to apologize or be neighborly, even when I had felt awful about it the whole time.
