He's an old soul and not attached to his phone. He'll sometimes leave home without it while running errands. That drives me crazy if I want to let him know I forgot something on a list or something. But I'm not perfect either. If I'm working with headphones in and really busy, I won't always notice my phone either. He's on the phone or in meetings basically all day. But he always gets back to me as soon as he can. I don't always carry my phone with me, and it's usually set on vibrate. DH will turn on music on Alexa and talk to the nestcam to try to get my attention at home if he needs to get in touch with me. He used to be bad about having the phone on silent, but has gotten better about this and now answers about 90% of the time. It's more common that we text then talk and FaceTime at night when he's in his hotel. But if I'm driving I usually will give him a quick call and hope I catch him. We use text or gchat/hangouts allll the time though, on both our comps or phones. If I'm available I normally have the Bluetooth ready to pick up in my car or my phone is visible for a call/missed call. That's probably a much healthier approach than me; I am always glued to my phone so I pick it up almost 100% of the time. I wish we had a landline so that I could call if there was an emergency and know that the phone was ringing loudly across the entire house. I've heard you can get Bluetooth speakers that support that, so maybe we'll look into that. Does your SO always pick up the phone when you call?
