@mrbee: If I don't have a diaper bag, I know LO will poo. And probably have an explosive one so I'll need to change her.

DH takes LO out to Starbucks a few times a week, but never takes the diaper bag with him. We live close enough to home that he can just rush back if she has a poopy diaper.

@Lozza:
haha our good friends gifted him something similar and filled it with bottles. It's actually a tactical survival bag! Too funny. I think he will use it when it's just him out with baby. :D

He will! We actually picked out a diaper bag (skip hop bento) that he would like...instead of me picking out a cute girly one. Since he will be the primary caretaker during the week, I figured we should have one he wouldn't be embarrassed to carry!

@Lozza: Just to clarify: I don't view diaper bags as unmanly! I just don't like to carry anything with me. I prefer to travel light and stay fairly close to home...

Also, Charlie usually poops in the morning so it's pretty rare that I need to take him home from the playground in the afternoon!

@artbee: It's pretty rare that I'm out for more than an hour or two — say, to get coffee or for a playdate.

If we take Charlie somewhere longer than that, then Mrs. Bee will usually bring a diaper bag or I'll throw a few diapers in my jacket!

I keep diapers in the car and a changing station in the bottom of the stroller, so my husband has no excuse not to change our son on the go! He could come home and do it, though, if he wanted, lol.

DH has this little black one-shoulder-backpack kinda thing, and he just has a changing pad, extra diaper, wipes, and a couple other things in there. It's light and manly. :)

But what if you want to go far away or stay out for a while? My husband carries our diaper bag. Ill put together a smaller bag for him or he'll leave it in the car.

He does. He carries a messenger bag but we're shopping for a backpack for him, which he thinks would be easier to carry. His "diaper bag" is so empty compared to mine! He literally only carries water, snacks, wipes, diapers and a jacket. I have WAAAAY more things in mine.

yep. DH is on baby duty on his own once a week at least, and we live too far to go anywhere without the bag. The likelihood of needing a diaper change while we're out, or an outfit change when there's too much spit-up to just wipe away, that it's just not worth the risk to leave the diaper bag at home yet.

Yes, if they are going somewhere to eat together or for a long enough time, say 3-4 hours. If that is the case, then she'll have to eat something or get her diaper changed.

I don't use a stroller or a diaper bag. I usually just come home if Charlie poops.

What about your SO... do they carry a diaper bag?
