His best friend has a BBQ every year and we've gone once. It just isn't something he enjoys. Mine is introverted as well, so parties in general aren't his thing. If he knew the couple and it would involve doing something like hanging outside and grilling, he might attend. But otherwise, I don't see him being into it. And honestly, I don't think I'll like them that much either! He's very introverted and doesn't enjoy being around people he doesn't know or making small talk. </p> <p>I'm extroverted and that's totally my scene, so I go. The parties are for young kids, so the parents have to stay and be present at the party. DH does not like to attend these parties, since they are often hosted at kid places (like bounce houses), and he feels like the moms are my friends and not really his. Some of the dads go to the parties, but even so, he would prefer to skip. Does your SO go with you to kids birthday parties? If so, do they enjoy going? </p>
