We just keep our shoes in the front of the house by the door. LO is way more tidy then we are though, she has a special place for her shoes that she always uses. Coats I either hang on the door knob (bad!!!) or hang in the closet if I'm being good :) DH NEVER puts his shoes away and the puppy always chews them!! Drives me batty. He never puts his coat away.. usually on a doorknob some where, lol. My DH pushes them slightly between the sofa cushion and the arm (maybe so I don't see them lying there and moan about them) so I'm forever finding dirty socks when I vaccum the sofas. The coat cupboard is right next to the dining table and yet every day DH will either hang his coat on the back of a dining chair or fling it across the dining table! AGH! Now I hang up my coat and put away my shoes 100% of the time, and Charlie is getting much better about doing it too. Dang, parenting is forcing me to become a better person. My dad used to joke that by the time he dies, he will have become a perfect person... haha I don't think I'll ever come close to that, but I finally get what he means!
