I had long hair from high school until a month after our wedding. My PWC was pretty drastic as I hadn't had short or medium length hair in over 10 years! He definitely would not be happy if I got a pixie cut. I can't wait to cut my current mop but it's still working OK for me, for now. I have lots of very fine curly hair so when it grows past a certain length it's a nightmare. I've been growing it out since before we met, so he's really only seen me with long (for me) hair. I've thought about cutting it a few times, but I'm enjoying the length and variety of styles I can do with it. But I have really thick hair and lots of it. So he knows when it gets really long it starts to get really heavy and drive me crazy. He has seen me with it at my waist and at my chin. He doesn't like it when it is super short or super long because he think I look younger and that weirds him out. I like my hair on the longer side. ETA my husband does have very strong feelings about hair color. He loves red heads and my hair is naturally red with some brown. My DH doesn't say he prefers it one way or another, I think he likes it no matter what as long as it is styled. I've had it (very) long since childhood. He says now that if I wanted to cut it he'd be ok, but he'd rather I didn't. My hair is waist length and wavy and dark red, so I'm not sure I would have the same uniqueness without it, so I'm keeping it for now. Even though it's a lot of work and upkeep. I guess "practical" is the word to describe it. Nothing wrong with wanting to go with practical! I often choose practical convenience over other less tangible attributes. (ETA: That said, I am usually not a fan of the PWC... although I have a few that turned out ok.) Does your SO prefer your hair long or short? How about you?
