Mine always did this. She was all over the place. She would sleep through it, so we kept her swaddled until she started rolling and breaking out of it consistently.

@krsmall: how funny! I don't know how they don't wake themselves either! we tried a sleepsack on her a while back, and I think it was just too long for her at the time....she flapped around like a fish!

My son did this around the same age too. For him, it didn't indicate that he was ready to swaddle wean because I tried and he could fall asleep unswaddled but would constantly wake himself up with waving arms.

My LO isn't swaddled, we do the sleepsack and he moves around like crazy! He starts at one side of the crib and ends up at the other and turned around by the time I get him in the morning to go to daycare. I wonder how he doesn't wake himself up! :)

My daughter has started moving herself all around her crib at night, even though she's still swaddled! She doesn't break out of her swaddle and it always seems to be kind of in a counter clockwise motion. I'm guessing it's from when she wakes and resettles herself? She does it for both nights and naps, and sometimes ends up with her head right up against the back crib rails, which makes me kind of nervous that she's going to bonk herself.

Did anyone else's LO do this? Do you think it means she's ready to lose the swaddle, or just a funny baby party trick?

My son never really did this, but has only been belly swaddled for a few weeks now since he started rolling over. They are just shy of 4 months.
