Miss A is 18.5 months and occasionally skips a nap if she poops while she's trying to go to sleep. I generally leave her in bed for an hour before calling it a no nap day.

Yes, and then we pay for it dearly in the middle of the night. Last night she was up from 1-5. Kill me now.

@mrs. tictactoe: No, I'm going in there soon... the thought of her going nuts and not falling asleep until 10PM terrifies me to no end :T

@pinkcupcake: ugh, the worst. I'd give her a half hour and then wake her up unless you don't mind her being up late tonight.

@autumn865: haha yes, she always does something to shake it up!

@sandy: same, she usually falls asleep immediately on no nap or short nap days so I know she still needs that afternoon sleep

@mrs. tictactoe: she actually just fell asleep now, at 340... Crap idk what to do :(

@pinkcupcake: yes, she does this every few days. Naps well 3-4 days then doesn't nap 1 day. This has been going on since she was around 2. She's almost 2.5 now and I just deal with it. Like you, I still insist on quiet time for 2 hours. So from 2:30-4:30 she stays in her bed and if she just plays and talks the whole time I get her at the 2 hour mark and everything is moved up an hour. She has dinner an hour earlier and bath and bedtime is an hour earlier. She does fine but the minute we turn the lights out she is asleep ASAP so I know an earlier bedtime is needed. So bedtime is 7:00 rather than 8:00. It works for us. And the days she does nap she naps for 3 hours so I know she still needs a nap and is nowhere near dropping it

It has happened before and I think the quiet time helps. If he's not upset, I leave him there for a while. It has never happened two days in a row, so hopefully she will nap for you tomorrow!

My 2yo usually takes a 1.5 - 2 hour nap in the afternoon. Today I took her upstairs at 130 (her usual naptime), and the whole time, she's been talking, singing, playing with her dolls, and basically doing everything but sleep. It's 315 here now and it doesn't look like this nap is gonna happen!

What do you usually do? Just bring them down after awhile? She's not upset or anything ... And I guess she got some "quiet" time so hopefully she won't be too much of a mess this evening!
