LO has a Giro helmet, and I like that it can adjust. My 1 year old can fit it too! </p> <p>At school they don't wear helmets while riding tricycles because it's not required by law (not tall enough from the ground). We are encouraged to bring our own since they don't have the funds to provide one for every student. We use a helmet for any bikes or activities like that. We got ours at a local hospital. They have a safety store and sell helmets (with free fittings) for $10. I'd ask around to see if you have an option like that.
