I wonder if it's an age thing. ODD turned 2 last month and has been waking up screaming, sure there are spiders in her bed, most nights over the last week.

i think so... most of our toddler sleep issues started after she turned 2.

one time she woke up screaming and kept pointing to the door, and saying "it's scary it's scary!" - she was sweating and trembling. we ended up covering the door with a mattress sheet and that helped her.

another time she woke up screaming because the monitor scared her - i do think the motorola monitor can look pretty scary though. so we had to take it down.

ever since we started having the kids share a room all the crazy toddler sleep issues have stopped. it's only been a week, but she doesn't stall by calling for us to go to the bathroom, getting her this or that, etc. and she also doesn't wake up screaming anymore, or wake up in the middle of the night to crawl into our bed.

LO (she recently turned 2) woke up screaming this morning, two piercing screams and then my name over and over. When I went into her room she pointed to the window and said, "it's broken." The window looks the same as it always has. She had a nightmare another time a few months ago back when she was still in our room, she woke up screaming, looked at the window, and tried to climb over me to get away and said, "it's broken, mommy."

I'm wondering if this is a recurring nightmare or if she's afraid of windows? Can toddlers have recurring dreams? Does your LO have bad dreams?
