Nope! He's 2 and we've been talking about using inside voice the past week or so. The screaming is ear splitting, especially in the car!

He knows, but he needs reminded, and often doesn't want to comply. Like last night at dinner, we reminded him to please be a little more quiet (because he was singing Circle of Life at the top of his lungs). He told me, "No, don't say that word quiet!" Ugh. Threenager.

Heck no. She has started yelling as loud we she can because it tickles her. "Cockadoodledoo" at ear-splitting volume is a favourite. Of course, she prefers to do it when the baby is sleeping 🙈🙈🙈

Haha, DS has gotten SO LOUD since DD was born! I don't think it's my imagination that he's gotten louder... he's got this habit now of shouting the end of every sentence  He must be picking it up in day care, his best friend there is the same. I feel bad asking him to cool it if he's just having fun, but sometimes I have to!

This is a daily struggle for us! My son is SO loud. I always joke that he could be a stage actor since he is loud and his voice carries! We talk about using his indoor quiet voice every day, but I have to constantly remind him.

Yessss. I read the subject line and immediately, I feel ya sistah!
It's not so much yelling, though there is plenty of that. He likes to screech, or make weird noises very loudly. I do tell him that because we lice in an apartment we especially need to be quieter. I can hear my neighbors normal talking voices so I can only imagine all they can hear from our house 🙄
I often use the excuse that people in other apartments are sleeping, and he hates it when things wake him up, so we should be considerate. It *sometimes* works.

I know it sounds whiny, but I suffer from daily headaches/migraines and so it really pushes my buttons! I've totally used that excuse with him too. He does seem a little more empathetic knowing it can cause me pain, ha. I'm not trying to be manipulative at all, but I think it's important for him to learn that things like this affect others.

I wouldn't say she is a yeller (yet, at 28 months) but she can't really control the volume. I just started bringing her to church and the comments and talking are somewhere between embarrassing and hilarious. She know "whisper whisper" but then forgets and starts talking loudly again.

I feel like I ask my 3 year old to lower her voice 100 times a day. Mainly when the baby is asleep (we have a one-story ranch style home and the hall is open to the living area).

Never, ever works. We have gone over inside/outside voices a ton of times and it just doesn't stick - in one ear and out the other. Normal but man...do you have to yell everything??
