My daughter loves helping to empty the dishwasher (she helps with silverware other than knives, and will hand me the plates), and she's also great about putting away her toys. I should probably add a couple more chores for her to do, since she's so enthusiastic about them.

Yes, she loves to help.

She's obsessed with throwing things in trash, she helps dust, she puts her dishes in sink, tries to help empty dishwasher (usually puts spoons in a random drawer), puts clothes in hamper. She always "vacuums" when I do with her toy one ;)

She helps empty the dishwasher. I stand at the cabinets and she hands me plates/whatever one at a time. (I take the silverware thing out first and do that myself.)

She also helps put away groceries (aka hands me stuff from the bags to put away).

She puts away her toys and books before each nap or bedtime and bath toys after her bath.

Great ideas here, I'm going to start teaching DS to do more! His big things now are carrying his plate to the counter after meals which he has been doing well since 18 mos, and also putting his food scraps in the compost pail. It is absolutely adorable to see him doing the compost because he is so serious about every step - open the cabinet, take out the pail, remove the lid and set it aside, pour the pieces (usually orange or banana peel) into the pail, pick up all the pieces that fall on the floor and put them in, replace the lid, put the pail back in cabinet, close cabinet door. :)

@keiki_mama: Love the lotion :)

Throw away trash. Clean up after herself, especially after eating (sweeping the floor, cleaning out her chair). Puts away her toys and her books.

She wants to do the dishes so we usually put a big bowl with soapy water on the counter and let her wash utensils. (And then rewash!)

Mostly she helps me with cooking--I no longer have to rip kale off of the stalks! She's an expert.

-puts away his toys and books in the evening
-puts away his stool after brushing his teeth
-helps daddy make coffee in the Keurig in the morning (and throw away the old pod)
-"helps" put away the clothes--this really backfires on us sometimes because he ends up accidentally unfolding things
-make the bed
-brings light items up from the garage to the condo (paper towels, TP, etc.)
-throws away little pieces of trash he finds
-puts his used plates (and sometimes ours  ) in the sink after we're done
-rubs lotion on my legs because I'm too preggers to bend down :silly:

Well I (totally taking credit for this) just got her to start putting her dirty clothes in the hamper when we get undressed for bath time.

She also is starting to take her pouches to the trash. I would have her take her plate to throw out what she doesn't eat, but then she throws the whole plate in the trash.

My son has his own little vacuum cleaner (not a play one, but a rechargable light duty one) that he uses to clean up around the house. He also helps sort the laundry and tries to fold.

He's big into helping my husband outside, this weekend he carried loads of pebbles in his wheelbarrow and he watered the plants.

I try to encourage LO to carry her daycare bag in to daycare, bring in light bags of groceries, help put her dishes in the sink, 'help' with sweeping and mopping, 'folding' laundry, etc.

I hope it helps with her confidence and let's her know she's an important part of the family.

What kind of things do you have LO help with? I need some new ideas: )
