Absolutely. I have a low threshold for sleep shenanigans once they're older. He knows his dad his a sucker who will sometimes stay if we wakes up in the MOTN but I'm in and out in a few minutes unless he's sick.

Yes, thankfully, both of them do. Sometimes they stall though but I stand my ground and eventually get out of there without any tears on their end. Routine works really well with my kids and I try everything to get them to stick with it even if sometimes they like to try something new. For a while, my youngest made me put his book in the office every night after we read it. He's a heavy boy so doing that for naps and bed time got a bit too much for me, especially since I had to carry him and walk which has been hard on my hips. :P

Yes. He likes his space and I think he needs a few minutes to decompress alone before he falls asleep. He'll keep standing, wanting to play if we're in there. The only time he'll go to sleep if we're in there is when he's sick or teething, and then we'll be cuddled on his futon with him.

Yeah I don't stay unless he is sick. He usually plays for 5 mins and goes to sleep. Sometimes he will cry a little but that's pretty rare these days. He's 22 months

Yes and no. She goes in waves. sometimes she's perfectly fine letting me leave before she's asleep. Sometimes not and she'll cry for 5 and then fall asleep.

18 months and yep, I have to sit there until she falls asleep. One time, I tried sneaking out to watch some tv but she cried for half an hour, calling my name before I gave up. I went back in and sat there, and she immediately calmed down and went to sleep

I always leave before she falls asleep. We do bedtime stories, potty and a song and we leave. She's 2 years 4 months and she's just starting to try stalling bedtime with taking a long time on the potty and she does get upset sometimes but it's not negotiable and we tell her it's bedtime and we leave the room and she's fine after a minute. She had 3 stuffed animals that she loves in her bed so she's fine after a minute. Even if she takes an hour to fall asleep we just leave her

Um, no. My husband just spent half an hour laying in bed with our daughter because she wouldn't fall asleep. We're having a pretty rough go of it sleep wise with her. She's so dependant on us.

Our 2 1/2 year old rarely lets me leave when I'm putting her down these days... thankfully she falls asleep reasonably quickly! Sometimes it can take an hour though... so I bring my phone in there to keep me awake, otherwise I'd pass out for sure.
