He likes the stroller and he likes to walk too. We have a rule when he is walking with us that he has to either hold someone's hand or hold onto the stroller, if he doesn't want to do either then it is back in the stroller. So far it seems to work pretty well. He may not be happy about going back into the stroller but he is over it once I have him buckled in.

Mrs. Bee: My kids fight over the stroller now! My 5 year old won't get out even though she is perfectly capable of walking everywhere by herself..

My DS is so so about the stroller but if my DD is wanting in, he will want it too...

Major tantrum as soon as we try to buckle him in, and then he's usually ok for the next half hour or so, sometimes longer if we're moving and he has a snack. But doing errands is very very difficult with him in the stroller.

He tantrums when getting in it but is then ok for long enough for me to go running. If we want him in it while running errands or whatever, forget it.

I laughed when I read your post. I was just telling DH we should get LO a leash since he likes to walk by himself and refuses to hold anybody's hand. He doesn't hate the stroller, but he won't sit there for a long period of time. We bought him the Stokke Scoot for travel and he prefers his Orbit. So, I started bringing that stroller instead.

My toddler likes to sit in the stroller to people watch and just stare (just as she likes to do during car rides) but she does prefer to be out and walking around.

Olive is in the wanting to walk stage and sometimes we have to force her into the stroller esp at school drop offs/pick ups.

But once they get older and realize that they don't have to walk, they love the stroller again. It's a lot easier when they willingly sit in the stroller!

DS will still sit in the stroller for awhile as long as there's some action going on. He's better in a shopping cart, especially the grocery store where there's a lot going on.

I haven't really let him out of the stroller much in stores b/c I feel like once he gets a taste of freedom, he's going to want it all the time.

He is okay as long as we're moving. Once we stop, he wants out. But if we take him out, there's no way we can get him back in later on, unless he gets a fruit pouch. Most days we just plan not to use the stroller and have been trying to get him used to holding one of our hands.

Yes, thankfully he does still like the stroller. That, and the cart wherever we go are a huge hit.

LO HATES being confined to his stroller. It makes it so hard to go anywhere. He wants to be down and running. I used to always laugh when I saw the toddler leashes, I get it now. :)
