I must say "yeah" more than "yes" because they both started with that. (I don't have any other kids to compare him to.) He is now 21mos. He can count to ten and recently started to identify colors. And he can construct grammatically correct sentences. He can definitely pronounce the word 'yes' and will parrot it if we ask. But he NEVER says 'yes'. He just says "mhmmm". He will nod his head most of the time when meaning yes. He is in the 'no' phase. Even when he nods his head yes he says "no".
