@regberadaisy: Yes, it does. It has worked very well so far for us. It reminds me of the silicon cutting mats you see.

@regberadaisy: That's why we started using a placemat. There's a bunch of little fork indents by her place now.

@Tanjowen: does this stick to the table? We've just started our 17m eating at the table, instead of using her tray. She likes to stab our wood dining table with her fork... 😁

I have this one from Babies R Us, but in red: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=42969136&camp=PLAPPCG-_-PID19228738:BRUS&cagpspn=plab_19228738&eESource=CAPLA_DF:42969136:TRUS

I love it. Easy to clean and rolls up small for storage or travel.

We all just use our regular placemats and I wipe them after every meal or I wash the fabric ones as needed.

So it sounds like I need to go to target. Maybe we will go together and pick it out after her first dentist appt tomorrow.

No but neither do we. Easier to wipe the table (which I have to do anyway) than clean off a placemat.

Yes! We have a plastic one from Target. Minnie. But some nights she says she doesn't want to use it.

We use Chilewich placemats for all of us (including DS). They're great because you can just wash them in the sink with dish soap if they get dirty.

Ezpz happy mat. Best thing ever. I love that it's all in one plate/bowl/mat so I just throw the whole thing in the sink to clean it and it's ready for the next meal.

Same age, also eats at the table with us. Depends on what she's eating, really. We've just gotten a few Circo mats, from Target. They're between 2 and 3 bucks, and DD likes the colorful animals. Nothing fancy, but they've done the job just fine.

@ShootingStar: yeah she likes to take her bib off and wave it around before throwing it. :( The counters are safe, she can't really damage them, it just want to contain the mess. Might be a losing battle.

Our toddler sits at the table in a booster and we don't use a place mat. We probably should've because the wood finish has taken a bit of a beating. But chances are he's just throw it on the floor. It's fight to keep him from grabbing napkins and throwing them because he thinks it's funny.

If your toddlers eats at the regular table, do they use a placemat? If so, what kind?

We just started having C sit on a booster seat on a counter stool at our counter, instead of her hook on high chair with tray. Unfortunately this is coinciding with her really wanting to drink out of an open cup, which occasionally spills. Plus the crumbs. Trying to decide if it's worth having some kind of placemat for her (she uses plates and bowls and such but sometimes puts food on the counter anyway) or just ride it out? She's 2.5.
